Purple Mountain

Purple Mountain

There once lived a boy named Phil. Phil was not your every day kid, he was different. He could beat up any guy at school and not feel bad about it. He had one problem. He was human. He makes mistakes and he is not perfect. No human is perfect. Phil was a big guy, he liked going out to the burger shops every chance he could get. They old way you could beat big Phil in a fight would be out running him. He was fat and he knew it. Phil never ever goes into a fight alone. He always has his buddy beside him, backing him up. His friend wasn’t normal either. He is a talking moose. “Not just any moose” says Phil. “He is a mini moose, he can talk just like any human and he has a heart of gold. It’s hard for him to help people; because when he tries to help someone they run yelling MOOSE. He wouldn’t hurt a fly. He’s just a good friend of mine and help where he can” says Phil.
“I got a text just the other day” says Phil. Moose replies “What was that?” “Oh, just another friend of mine, he has a quest for us to take care of. He has run into a trouble. He left his wedding ring at the top of Purple Mountain. There is someone waiting up there. But it will not be that easy. His name is Fred. Fred likes to kill people. He rides a red horse that can shoot fire at whoever he wishes. We’ll have to head up soon so we can try and beat him in the dark.” “I’m scared and really don’t know if this is a good idea Phil! He can shoot flames at us” says Moose. “Get goodnights sleep tonight, we’ll pack or bags and get ready all day tomorrow have a small nap then head up the mountainside tomorrow at dusk” says Phil.
As Moose and Phil enter Candy land, the 8 pm mark hits. It’s starting to get darker and darker. Harder and harder to see. “How are we going to be able to see where we are going?” says Phil. Moose replies “I’ll use my night vision that my father passed down to me! This is the first time i have actually been able to use this gift; I cannot wait!” Click he says out loud, and off they go. Phil follows right behind Moose so he doesn’t trip and fall down the steep mountain side! Huffing and puffing they climb slow but steady. The 10 pm mark hits, and they have been climbing for over 2 hours not, in the pitch black! “We have to be here soon” says Moose. “Look! I see some lights” Whispers Phil. They climb faster while trying to keep quiet! “Ah! Here we are” says Moose. Now that they are on top, they’ve got to try and find small caves. “There are lots of lights up here” says Phil. “Just how do we know which one is the right cave?” whispers Moose.  “Let’s just keep walking; I’m sure we’ll come across something strange!” Taking smaller and smaller steps, trying to keep light feet while walking, trying not to make a single noise. “Ah!” Yells Moose! “I turn around and he is hanging off the end of the cliff! Someone made a trap! We must be getting close!! Here! Take this rope” says Phil “I toss the rope down. He grips it tight with his teeth, hanging on for dear life! Just wait! Be patient, ill pull you up don’t worry! Just as I think things couldn’t be going better i hear footsteps! Clip clop. “Who is that?” says Moose. “Shh!”I whisper. It’s him! I’ll stay here till the end Moose! Don’t worry! As he come closer his horse seems to be small, he really is not that big after all. Wait, he looks huge! He’s getting bigger and bigger as he keeps coming towards me! Should I drop this rope? No! I can’t! This is my best friend! I’ll stay with him until the end! It’s too cold outside; my hands are becoming numb from hanging onto this rope for so long! Here he comes! I have to act fast! How can I kill him or injure him so i can steal my ring back from his cave? A cheeseburger! That’s it! I have one in my pocket from the other day! I was Hungry and forgot about it! It’s so frozen it would knock him out, without a rider the horse can’t do a thing to me or my friend! I tie the rope off onto a 6oo Lb rock nearby! Hang on Moose I yelled! I’ll be back! I reach into my pocket with my ice cold hands, grab the burger and take aim! “Back off” I yelled. He turns and looks at me with a big grin. I swear i could have seen bugs crawling through his teeth. Don’t take me lightly i yelled at him. He laughed a little more; he looks back as he’s getting ready to grab something. WACK! I threw my burger; hit him square in the back of the head. He fell off that horse faster than a rock down the cliff! I ran back, grabbed my buddy who i left hanging. Pulled him up – thank god he’s just a little guy! We ran off and into his cave. There is was, sitting in the corner all alone.  A little dusty, that can be fixed. I ran in, grabbed it, and told Moose to lead the way back. Just to make sure we don’t get lost! Just as were heading down the other side of the mountain the 12 o’clock bells ring! We have to be back by 1 am Moose or the ring will magically disappear! It has to be on her finger by 1:01am! Let’s run! We have to hurry back! We run for 30 minutes strait and stop for a break, run for another 20 minutes! Back with 5 minutes to spare. Give it to my buddy, on the finger it goes! Were safe! A job well done Moose. Another great job. Time for bed? Moose? Are you there? Bang! Moose falls over! He can’t be dead!!  Ring, Ring, Ring, “Hello 9-11 How many I help you?”
